Christine Garingo Laraza
Christine Garingo Laraza is a student completing her studies in Culinary Arts at Grossmont College and was awarded the honor of being the 2019 Chefs de Cuisine Student of the Year. Christine is a working mother with three children and still found the time to be the primary support person during the first year of Education Foundation’s Healthy Cooking Classes.
She calls herself the “Lady Sushi Chef” at Kyoto Japanese Market/Sushi and excels in a food genre that is still predominantly male dominated. Christine has been a member of the Education Foundation board of directors since 2019 and is active in a variety of Chefs de Cuisine activities.
